House of Commons 2029
The United Kingdom general elections are held to renew the 650 Members of Parliament of the House of Commons for a five-year term.
The House of Commons is the lower chamber of the UK’s bicameral Parliament. It has 650 seats, filled for five years through a first-past-the-post voting system in as many constituencies. Of these 650 seats, 543 represent England, 57 Scotland, 32 Wales, and 18 Northern Ireland. In each constituency, the candidate who receives the most votes is elected.
